Here are the average monthly premiums for 2025 (the latest year available) and estimated 2026 premiums for the four most popular ACA metal‑tier plans. The 2025 figures come from the Kaiser Family Foundation’s interactive table of Average Marketplace Premiums by Metal Tier.


The 2026 figures apply each state’s known average rate‑increase percentage to the 2025 base (e.g., 28.4 % for Colorado, 9.7 % for Oregon).


Actual 2026 premiums may vary depending on plan, issuer and county.

Notes & methodology

 

  • The 2025 premiums represent state‑wide average monthly premiums for the Bronze, Silver, Gold and (estimated) Platinum monthly premiums. They are weighted by county plan selections and come from KFF’s interactive premium table.
     

Rate increases for 2026:
 

  • Hawaii: carriers requested an average ~11.9 % increase for 2026
     
  • California: Covered California projects a 10.3 % weighted average
     
  • Nevada: Nevada’s Division of Insurance approved an average 26 % increase for individual-market premium
     
  • Texas: filings indicate an average 24 % increase for 2026
     
  • Oregon: regulators project a 9.7 % weighted average increase
     
  • Washington: the Insurance Commissioner approved a 21 % average rate hike for 2026
     
  • Colorado: 2026 filings show an average 28.4 % increase
     
  • Michigan: the Department of Insurance & Financial Services reports a 16.8 % average requested increase
     

Estimated 2026 premiums were calculated by applying each state’s average rate increase to the 2025 base.  Actual premiums will depend on carriers and plan selections and may differ from these estimates.

 *Platinum values are estimates because state‑level data aren’t widely available; they assume a 15 % higher premium than the Gold plan.  Actual premiums will vary by insurer, region and plan design.
